Q: Where do I book a room?
A: Ryokan Muntri Boutique Hostels encourages you to book directly through our website on ryokanmuntri.com and click on the 'Bookings' tab. Select the dates and the type of room (Sunrise, Loft, Luxury etc). If you are unsure of what type of Dorm/Room, please scroll down further the page and you will find descriptions of the what's available. Alternatively, you can email us at
. If you are interested in bike rental, you will have emaiil us after you have made your bookings- subject to availability.
Q: What are the consequences of cancelling my booking?
A: If you have made a booking through ryokanmuntri.com you will lose your deposit. Cancellation must be done 48 hours before check-in time (2pm) failing which we will forfeit the entire sum. For cancellation before 48 hours we will forfeit 10%. If you've made reservations through another website you will have to check with them about their policy.
Q: What are the check-in and check-out times?
A: Check-out time is at 12.00 noon and Check-in time is at 2.00pm. Our reception opens at 08.00 am until 11pm.
Q: Can I check-in at night?
A: There won't be reception on duty between 11pm and 8am. If you're arriving at Ryokan between these times, please email us (
), and we will try our best to accommodate your request.
Q: Can I safely store my belongings at the hostel?
A: Everyone who checks in gets a private locker in the bedrooms. You need a padlock to lock it properly. If you do not have your own padlock you can buy one for RM5 at the reception.
Q: Can I temporarily store my luggage at the hostel before or after check-in?
A: yes we have free luggage storage available for limited time. It can only be used by people who have booked in advanced, before check-in or a limited time after check-out. There's only limited space available.
Q: Do I need to pay for towels, blankets and other necessities during my stay?
A: All towels and blankets are provided and included in the room rates. Towels are cleaned daily.
Q: Are there any extra charges on top of the room rates?
A: The room rates include air-conditioning, sheets, pillow and an individual locker. Extra facilities like blankets, towels, drinks, or merchandise are available for a nominal amount. We offer a budget stay with the possibility to create a package to your needs. We charge a RM30 deposit per person upon check-in. It will be refunded to you when you check out.
Q: Can we bring children or pets?
A: Children between the age of 12 and 18 should be accompanied by an adult. If you have young children travelling with you, please inform us. Due to the high hygiene standards we apply we cannot allow pets in the hostel.
Q: If I book a whole room or dorm, can I allow extra guests to stay in there?
A: for safety reasons we cannot allow more guests to stay in a room with a particular capacity. Visitors are welcome in the main areas but are not allowed to stay overnight, unless they book a bed themselves.
Q: Do you offer any airport pick up services?
A: There are a variety of public transport services available, like taxi and busses. Besides these means of transportation we have our own shuttle service which is available at your request for an extra charge. Q: Do you provide meals?
A: Daily breakfast is served from 7.30am-10am.
Please be aware that we reserve the right to refuse guests that we find unsuitable. Any rules which apply in society also apply at the Ryokan Muntri Boutique Hostel.
